Every object is selected for its character, material, craftsmanship, history, or potential for continued life. Condition is documented clearly, and research is shared when evidence supports it. When an object’s age, maker, or provenance cannot be confirmed, that uncertainty is stated plainly.

    Objects are selected for their character, material, craftsmanship, history, usefulness, or potential for continued life.

  • Examined

    Each piece is carefully inspected, measured, and assessed for wear, damage, repairs, and function.

  • Documented

    Available evidence is researched, condition is recorded plainly, and uncertainty is never presented as fact.

  • Prepared

    Objects are cleaned and prepared using methods appropriate to their age and materials, then photographed honestly.
